So…

You want to work with kids?

Welcome to Montecito Covenant Church
Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.

Our goal is to foster a community where youth are seen, known, loved, and launched into our world as passionate followers of Jesus.

At Montecito Covenant Church (MCC) we believe that every believer has a duty to protect the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of those most vulnerable among us (Psalm 127:3, Proverbs 22:6, Mark 9:42, and James 1:27). This includes, but is not limited to, students under our care.

We take the need to carefully screen our volunteers and employees seriously, following protocols that meet or exceed the requirements of California’s AB-506. An overview of our screening process can be found below.

Application

People working with minors at MCC must complete on online application. Applicants should note that the form requires you to provide two references. One must be a personal or professional reference, the other must be a family or spiritual reference. At least one of your references must be of the opposite sex, and no more than one of your references should be a family member.

Please contact each reference, get permission to list them, and let them know that a MCC Child and Student Ministries representative will contact them via email shortly.

Background Check

Upon receiving your completed application, you will be issued a background check request from an organization called “Ministry Safe”. Please respond to the background check prompt at your earliest convenience. If you do not receive a background check request within 3 days of completing your application, please email Pastor Jaron at jaron@mcchurch.org.

Mandated Reporter Training

All volunteers working in direct contact with minors are required to complete a state-approved mandated reporter training online. You will receive an invitation to this training via email from Ministry Safe. Please complete the training at your earliest convenience. To successfully complete the training, you will need to pass a quiz at the end of the presentation, so be prepared!

If you do not receive a training invitation check request within 3 days of completing your application, please email Pastor Jaron at jaron@mcchurch.org.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
