ABOUT US
Who we are, what we believe in and our missions
WHO WE ARE
Montecito Covenant Church is a people of God, called and committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, living by faith under the authority of the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our purpose is to love and glorify God by:
Worshiping Him in Spirit and Truth;
Growing in Christ-like maturity;
Caring for one another in love;
Sharing the Good News of Christ’s love with the world in word and deed.
“We make disciples here…who make disciples” has become the banner over all that we do. We seek to engage people where they are in their journey of faith, and invite and encourage them to take the next steps on their own pathway of discipleship.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that all persons are meant to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Our highest authority is the Bible, Old and New Testaments.
We believe in the “priesthood” of all believers, which means we are spiritually equal but have different functions.
We celebrate personal freedom in our relationship with Christ, and not a long list of do’s and don’ts.
We believe in mission; the whole Gospel by the whole church to the whole world.
Montecito Covenant Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Denomination and affirms its statement of faith.
MISSONS
We believe in serving Jesus in His name by outreach to both our local community and the world. As we strive to live out the love, hope and joy of the gospel, we partner with and seek to strengthen the work of 14 nonprofit organizations by mobilizing volunteers and funding programs. Our affiliates serve populations that include youth, low-income families, vulnerable women and children and the homeless.
