Our Roots
About 50 years ago we were established as an evangelical community church by community residents and folks from Westmont College. Soon afterwards, we felt the need to affiliate with a denomination and found a perfect fit in the Evangelical Covenant Church. What does that mean? It means we have roots and community. We value a history that goes way back before us, out of our Catholic heritage of the great creeds, out of the Lutheran heritage of the authority of Scripture over all human organizations, and our Pietistic heritage that stresses the necessity of a heart-relationship with Jesus, in addition to intellectual understanding.
Big PictureBeing a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church means we work together with other churches in the area and around the world in mission, service, education, and justice.
